Novena to the Spirits in Purgatory
Prayers every day
Almighty and eternal God, I believe in Your words in both Scripture and Tradition. During this novena I want to revive and strengthen my faith in the fellowship of the saints and unite myself with those who have died, but are still suffering in Purgatory. After living on this earth, they have all met You as the Most Just Judge and also as the Merciful Father. However, during a time that only You know, they must experience separation from You, which torments them greatly. Through sincere prayer and upright Christian living, I wish to alleviate their suffering and pain and shorten their time in Purgatory. At this time, through the intercession of Jesus Christ, as well as through the prayers of Our Lady and Saint Joseph, I especially dedicate to you the deceased(ah) ........ whose death makes me very sad. I hope that those who have passed away, through their suffering and prayers in Purgatory, can help me who is still on this earth, especially I ask for forgiveness. ........, which I humbly hope for, and also the grace to always live according to Your will. Amen.
Daily Prayer
First day
Lord Jesus, to You I entrust all the Popes, Bishops, Priests, monks and nuns who have died, especially those whose ministry I have experienced personally or by my family. Church officials who are not free from various weaknesses. I beg you: forgive them. I especially present to You the Priests who have given the Holy Sacraments and have implanted Your word in me. Merciful Jesus, look at their good intentions as well as their sincere will. Give them immediately the joy of eternal life. Amen.

The second day
Lord Jesus, with a grateful heart I pray for the souls closest to my heart, namely my family, brothers, ancestors and all my relatives and relatives. Because of them I have received many gifts, even though as long as they are alive, I may not appreciate their services or even hurt them with my behavior. Merciful Jesus, forgive their sins. Appreciate all their good deeds and all the pain they endured for good. May they soon experience the joy of eternal life in Heaven. Amen.

The third day
Lord Jesus, I believe that a true love relationship between humans is stronger than death. Therefore I entrust to You all my friends, my neighbors, my acquaintances, and all the other people I have ever met, who have passed away. Forgive and forget all their shortcomings and sins. Receive them all by Your side. Amen.

The fourth day
Lord Jesus, I am a weak and sinful person. If any soul is in Purgatory because of my mistakes, because I didn't set a good example, I really regret all my sins and through this novena I want to correct my mistakes. May you soon free their souls from suffering and soon be able to fellowship with the Saints in Heaven. Amen.

Fifth day
Lord Jesus, today I entrust to You all souls who have no one to pray for them. Souls who may not have experienced the love of anyone in their lifetime and for whom no one cares about them. It is for those souls that I pray this prayer. May they soon experience eternal light and joy in Heaven. Amen.

Sixth Day
Lord Jesus, suffering is always present in life on this earth and you have experienced it yourself. But I often don't realize the meaning of suffering and often I rebel and lose my way. At this moment I entrust to You all those who have suffered greatly during their lives, all those who are in despair, all of those who have taken their own lives. O Lord, show them that You are the Savior. Give them eternal joy with You in Heaven. Amen.

Seventh day
Lord Jesus, how many people died suddenly, who died due to accidents, natural disasters, wars, and other causes. Like me, they must have had plans for their lives, but those plans never came to fruition. Accept their sacrifice and forgive all their sins and lead them to Your eternal glory and joy. Amen

Eighth Day
Lord Jesus, through Your death on the cross, You have overcome death and through Your resurrection, You have given us eternal life. I beg you, accept my prayers for the souls of all Christians. May they all soon experience eternal glory and joy in Heaven. Amen

Ninth Day
Almighty God the Father, You have created man in Your own image and likeness. You certainly want us all to enter into Your kingdom. To You I entrust all those who have died. May my prayers ease and speed up their suffering in Purgatory and may they soon experience eternal joy in Heaven with You. Amen.
